Dr Wynand Steenkamp is an Orthopaedic Surgeon originally from Vryheid, KZN, who completed his MBChB at the University of Pretoria in 2010.
Dr Steenkamp discovered his passion for orthopaedic surgery during his medical internship at the Pietermaritzburg Hospital complex.
After completing his community service at Witbank Hospital, Dr Steenkamp became a medical officer at the hospital in the orthopaedics department. During this time, he also took part in outreach programmes at Middelburg Hospital and Ermelo Hospital.
In 2015, Dr Steenkamp began his specialisation at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University and obtained his FCOrth (SA) from the institution in 2019. He completed his Master of Medicine in 2021 with the thesis titled The Correlation between Clinical findings and Radiological severity of Osteoarthritis of The Knee in patients treated at a Tertiary Hospital, Gauteng.
Dr Wynand Steenkamp has a keen interest in limb deformity reconstruction as well as joint surgery of the hip and knee. Honesty and individualised care form the basis of his practice values at Life Cosmos Hospital in Witbank.
